Innovation in the contemporary polish economy and the untapped potential of the cooperation between science and business
Journal Title: Zeszyty Naukowe Wyższej Szkoły Humanitas Zarządzanie - Year 2016, Vol 17, Issue 4
Abstract
The Polish economy, despite assurances, is not innovative at all. As it turns out, among all EU countries, Poland in this respect is ahead only of Latvia and very poor Bulgaria and Romania. Yet, the cooperation between science and business is an inseparable foundation of every modern economy based on knowledge and innovation. However, is a true partnership between universities and business possible in the Polish conditions? Why has an effective reconciliation of these two aspects been impossible thus far? An analysis of this problem is currently an essential issue and should be done as soon as possible. This will help to establish an effective programme for remedying the cooperation between science and business in order to build real innovation and thus – also the Polish economic capital.
