JUSTIFICATION METHODOLOGICAL APPROACHES TO THE STUDY OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

Purpose - justify methodological approaches to the study of social and economic processes in rural areas form a sequence of stages of development research and offer systematic methodology for assessment of rural areas in the contemporary economy. Methodology of research. Realization of the purpose and tasks of scientific work is carried out by means of the following methods: the system approach - in the formation of methodological principles for studying the development of rural territories, generalization - in substantiating the choice of existing methods of research and assessment of the state of socio-economic processes in rural areas; monographic - the study of literary sources and the scientific thought of the development and management of rural areas, taking into account the features of sustainable economic development. Findings. The essence of the concept of methodology of scientific researches is revealed and approaches to its application in the study of rural territories are determined; scientifically based methods are grounded and their system for research of processes of development of rural territories is formed; the stages of the empirical component of research on the development and management of rural territories are identified. Originality. An author’s approach to the application of the methodological approach in the process of researching socio-economic processes in rural areas has been formed. It is proposed to use the system approach as the basis for choosing a set of existing scientific methods for the implementation of a comprehensive assessment of the state and development of rural areas. The essence, advantages, disadvantages of the system of methods for the study of rural areas and the sequence of stages of scientific research of their development are determined. Practical value results of the study are determined by the possibility of applying in the practice of scientific research an effective method of studying rural areas and conducting a comprehensive assessment of the current state of socio-economic processes in rural areas.
