The quality of education is a complex category, which has civilizational, social and systemic, national and regional dimension, that is why it should be considered as a multi-aspect concept. The quality of education is a category, which reflects different aspects of the educational process – philosophic, social, pedagogical, political and legal, demographic, economic etc. This concept combines properties and characteristics of the educational process and its result, which are able to satisfy the educational needs of subjects of the educational process (students and teachers), employers, managers, i. e. the society in the whole. Scientists think that the quality of education as a pedagogical category characterizes the level of achieving the educational goals and tasks, which is determined by a complex of factors that describes different aspects of educational activity of a university: the education content, forms and methods of teaching, resource and technical base, stuff etc, which provide the development of students’ competence. The higher education is considered to be of high quality in case it maximally contributes to the improvement of student’s intellectual potential through the formation of a certain number of competences, which allow obtaining necessary socially important results in a professional activity. The formation of competences primarily depends on the technology of providing and controlling the quality of education. It is obvious that the quality of higher education should be assessed not only by the process (the quality of education plans and programs, the quality of academic stuff, the quality of informational and methodical support etc), but also by the result – the quality of a graduate’s qualification. The article presents the characteristics of managing the system of providing the quality of educational activity by a university within the structure of the professional training of specialists majoring in “Educational institution management”.
