Journal Title: Вісник Житомирського державного університету імені Івана Франка - Year 2018, Vol 94, Issue 3
Abstract
The article focuses on the principal tendencies of the development of the national methodological thought concerning the problem of fiction genre analysis. The stages of fiction analysis studies as a genre are outlined. The studies of the leading methodologists of the second half of the twentieth century who consolidated the importance of introducing the genre analysis teaching literature into the school practice are analyzed. The ideas of the Ukrainian methodology founders of literature P. K. Volynskyi, T. F. Buhaiko and F. F. Buhaiko were a milestone phenomenon in the methodological thought. The scholars considered the study of genus and genre specific, on the base of dramatic and lyrical works revealing their genre originality as one of the priority tasks in the process of fiction analysis. The expediency of the usage of the fiction analysis as a genre aspect in the school course was firstly substantiated in methodical science in the 70s and 80s of the XX century. Methodists start working on the development of schemes, algorithms of fiction genre analysis. It is defined that based on genre analysis a qualitative new period of fiction learning began in the 90s of the XX century. General methodical problems of school analysis are highlighted in the works of N. I. Hrychanyk, A. O. Vitchenko, O. O. Isaieva, O. M. Nikolenko, L. V. Matsevko-Bekerska, L. F. Miroshnychenko, B. B. Shalahinova, F. M. Shteinbuk and others (on the base of learning foreign literature); N. Y. Voloshyna, V. P. Marko, A. L. Sytchenko, Y. A. Pasichnyk, H. L. Tokman and others (on the base of Ukrainian literature works). In the scientific and methodical works at the turn of the XX – XXI centuries, scholars outline the main directions of this problem proposing various ways of analysis, warning against a patterned approach to the fiction analysis and recommending choosing an effective strategy for analyzing fiction to interest students. Scientists- methodologists confirm that the analysis of the fiction should be based on its genre-generic specifics. Based on the achievements of national methodical science general approaches of learning generic-genre specificity of fiction have been developing and enriching in the scientific-methodical studios of the 20th – beginning of the 21st centuries especially in the works of modern Ukrainian scholars, such as M. I. Vaskiv, N. V. Romanyshyna, L. V. Skoryn, M. E. Shulhun.
