METHODS OF CONTROL OF SPEECH SKILLS AND ABILITIES FOR TRAINING FOREIGN STUDENTS OF PROFESSIONAL SPEECH

Abstract
The article concludes that it is expedient to use tests in the process of studying foreign students. Control acts as a link that not only registers, but also manages the learning process. Allocated control objects – linguistic material and speech skills – differentiate according to the types of speech activity. A special role is given to controlling oral speech (speaking). At each stage of speaking control, you can distinguish three basic steps. At the first level (correction systematization or cognitive-information) control is checked by the skills of operating language aspects (phonetics, grammar, vocabulary), necessary for speech activity. At the second stage (reproductive-formative) control, the formal indicators of the success of the speech activity, associated with the procedural of speaking (the time of the speech reaction to the replica of the partner, the rate of information gain, the presence and degree of concentration of the teacherʼs attention on the intentional-semantic aspects of speech activity in the speech works created by students in accordance with the acquired skills and abilities, formed at a certain stage of study with the degree of development of its communicative competence). The most important is the organization of control in the third stage (creative control) – the control of communication skills, checking the content aspect of speech activity. The implementation of phased control of speaking allows covering all the objects involved and facilitates successful control at the final stage of testing the studentsʼ ability to perform speech activity in Ukrainian. The organization of such control helps to accurately diagnose the reasons that impede communication in the context of foreign language activities. Each stage of the control corresponds to the most economical and adequate forms of control, types and forms of exercises and tasks, for each stage their evaluation criteria have been developed. The system of exercises is oriented on the regularities of real communication. Learning exercises help to master certain skills, appropriate ways to achieve the goal, and so on. The purpose of the control tasks is to check the level of mastering the speech activity acquired during a certain period of study. The control tasks should provide for the activation of intellectually and mentally activity of the participants of communication. Materials, forms and control tasks will allow students to choose the best communication strategies and tactics.
