Metody badania zmysłu smaku - przegląd piśmiennictwa

Abstract
Już w starożytności doceniono istotną rolę smaku na równi z węchem i wzrokiem w procesach poznawczych człowieka. W codziennej praktyce klinicznej spotkać się można z pytaniami pacjenta o wpływ aparatu ortodontycznego na codzienną aktywność życiową. Istnieje wciąż mała liczba doniesień na temat wpływu aparatu na zmysł smaku. Celem pracy było przedstawienie metod badania zmysłu smaku. Analizą sensoryczną zajmuje się gustometria. Stosowane metody można podzielić na subiektywne, bazujące na indywidualnej ocenie dokonywanej przez osobę badaną oraz obiektywne, rejestrujące smakowe potencjały wywołane w elektroencefalografii i magnetoencefalografii. W dobie rosnącej liczby roszczeń pacjentów lekarze ortodonci powinni posiadać wiedzę na temat metod badania wrażliwości smakowej, aby być w stanie odeprzeć ewentualne zarzuty w coraz częściej pojawiających się sytuacjach sądowych.
