MODERN TRENDS IN DEVELOPMENT OF THE INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX OF UKRAINE

Abstract
Purpose. To determine current trends in the development of the industrial complex of Ukraine on the basis of structural modernization in key areas. Methodology. Methodological principles and applied instruments of scientific researches, especially logic generalization, formalization, synthesis, system approach and structural analysis have been used. Results. The directions of revitalization of the state policy in modernization of the industrial complex of Ukraine have been defined. They are aimed at defining system problems, identifying the potential directions of an active state policy for modernizing the industry and identifying policy tools for its modernization. It is proved that today the technological structure of the industrial complex of Ukraine does not meet the requirements of the present and is not able to provide the country with economic growth at the expense of increasing the competitiveness of domestic industrial products. Originality. It is noted that an important step towards the development of innovative economy and innovation infrastructure was the determination and approval of medium-term priority directions of innovation activities of the national level. In turn, the main directions of structural modernization and industry in recent years have been the creation of an institutional basis for its development, adaptation of business conditions to world standards, protection of rights and interests of Ukrainian producers in the domestic and foreign markets, and so on. Practical value. It has been substantiated that structural modernization of the industrial complex of Ukraine is a factor in the formation of a new model of industrial development that will have the potential for long-term, dynamic growth, based on both endogenous and exogenous factors, which allow to solve problems of increasing the competitiveness of domestic industrial products in future. It has been concluded that the attraction of foreign capital is an important priority of investment policy. Firstly, it will allow to increase investment in resources and secondly, to use the accumulated experience of foreign companies for establishing and promoting high-tech products in the industry.
