Optimization Design of Automobile Sub-frame Based on Isight
Journal Title: 河南科技大学学报(自然科学版) - Year 2016, Vol 37, Issue 2
Abstract
A sub-frame finite element model was built for static strength and modal analysis. The static strength was found to be far smaller than the material yield strength( σs). Besides, the first frequency was too low which affected the ride comfort. Aiming to minimize the weight and maximize the first frequency,an optimal design with the response surface method was established based on the optimal platform of Isight, the constraint condition of 1. 2 times of the maximum stress smaller than σs,and the thickness of various parts in sub-frame taken as the design variables. The optimization results indicate that the optimized sub-frame is reduced by12. 1% in weight which meets the strength requirement. Meanwhile, the first to sixth frequencies are all increased so as to improve the ride comfort.
