ORTHOGRAPHIC VARIANTS OF THE VERNACULAR BINOMENS OF ICHTHYOLOGICAL TERMINOLOGY

Abstract
In this article the orthographic peculiarities of hyphenated writing of binomial ichthyological Ukrainian and Russian terms are discribed. The purpose of this article is to determine a role, a place and advantages of a hyphen in the terminology system and in the term-formation. The article lights up the issues of modern orthography and ichthyological onomasiology. Orthography of ichthyological nomenclature became the object of study in the off ered work. The subject of research is the spelling of Ukrainian and Russian binomial nomenclature of fi shes. Descriptive and comparative methods are used in the work. As a result of a research the аctual orthographical problems of the Ukrainian and Russian icthyological onomasiology were defi ned. Conclusions. To unify the system of ichthyological terminology seems reasonable the unifi cation of binomial terms in one form of representation: in the form of a compound hyphenated writing word. The practical value of results of a research consists in a possibility of their use in practical and theoretical systematization of a fi sh fauna in Ukraine.
