PECULIARITIES OF MULTIMEDIA APPLICATION WITHIN TEACHING PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL ENGLISH

Abstract
The article defines multimedia tools and explains possibilities of their use at Professional Medical English classes. The author defines main tasks, principles and sequence of the multimedia technologies application. The article defines basic advantages of multimedia: training cognitive abilities, activation of learning, actuality of the studied material, possibility of extramural training. The author also dwells on the drawbacks of the technology, mostly expressed in limited material base and supply of educational institutions. The article describes the already existing multimedia packages, issued by the Oxford University Press and Cambridge University Press, as well as the possibility of providing the author’s own package.
