Journal Title: Educational Psychology - Year 2014, Vol 47, Issue 5

Abstract

The main objective of the study was to examine the relationship between academic achievement and achievement motivation, self-efficacy and the way of spending free time. Study participants were 377 people at different stages of education: junior high students, high school students and university students. The levels of self-esteem, optimism, hope of success and achievement motivation were measured as well as the ways of spending free time. A relationship was found between academic achievement measured by grade point average and achievement motivation and hope of success. It was also found that grade point average was positively related to self-esteem, optimism and time management.
