Redesigning a Jaw Crusher Using Value Analysis, Part I
Journal Title: Analele Universitatii "Dunarea de Jos" din Galati. Fascicula IX, Metalurgie si Stiinta Materialelor - Year 2009, Vol 32, Issue 1
Abstract
Value Analysis (VA) is a method that provides an operating technique using a creative and organized approach. It is managed by a group, each of them selected according their expertise in specific subjects and coordinated by a Value Analysis expert. The paper presents a complete study of VALUE ANALYSIS applied concretely to a selected piece of equipment. The phases and ITERATIVE operation of the Value Analysis method are presented. Value Analysis combines both ENGINEERING and ECONOMICS without, however, placing neither ENGINEERING or ECONOMICS first. They both are similarly important, as it can be concluded at the end of this paper.

Corrosion of Composite Ferro-Niobium Layers in Cobalt Matrix
The ferro-niobium composite layers in cobalt matrix were obtained by cathode depositing from electrolyte solutions on steel base. The electrolyte included in its composition cobalt sulphate and cobalt chloride, boric aci...
Coatings Systems: Chromium Carbide, Nitride and Carbonitride
The process of the chemical deposition from vaporous implies the adsorption of the mobile atoms (monomers) on the substrate surface, their migration with embryos and stable nucleus formation, followed up by further growt...
Comparative Characteristics of Martensite and Bainite in Cu-Based SMAs
The present work reports the evolution of micro-structure and shape memory behavior in a Cu-15 Zn-6 Al (mass. %) shape memory alloy (SMA), as a function of the applied hot working procedure and of the performed heat trea...
Microstructural Characteristics of Sintered Powder Metallurgy Alloys
The purpose of this paper is to study the influence of processing parameters on the microstructural characteristics of sintered powder metallurgy alloys. The specimens were produced from atomised iron powders with differ...
Glow Discharge Optical Emission Spectrometry (GDOES), an Effectiveness Method for Characterizing Composition of Surfaces and Coatings
Within the frame of this work, the technical procedures and real advantages of using Glow Discharge Optical Emission Spectroscopy (GDOES) for establishing depth concentration profiles of surfaces are presented. GDOES can...
