Abstract
W grudniu 2003 roku Akademia Wychowania Fizycznego w Katowicach wydała dzieło godne szczególnej uwagi: Proces badawczy w naukach o sporcie, pióra prof. Igora Ryguły.Autor już od wielu lat znany jest w środowisku naukowym kultury fizycznej ze szczególnego upodobania do ogólnej metodologii nauki oraz do stosowania w sporcie metod matematycznych. Wydaje się, że właśnie wydane, obszerne dzieło (wraz z załącznikami i angielskim streszczeniem liczy 531 stron) stanowi podsumowanie dotychczasowych osiągnięć prof. Ryguły. Składa się z pięciu części o następujących tytułach:1. Wprowadzenie i aparatura pojęciowa.2. Wybrane pojęcia oraz techniki logiki formalnej i teorii mnogości.3. Metodologiczne podstawy badań w naukach o sporcie.4. Analiza matematyczno-statystyczna jako element procesu badawczego.5. Problemy sterowania i optymalizacji jednokryterialnej.
