STRATEGIES FOR INCREASING OF COMPETITIVE ABILITIES OF CLUSTERS IN THE AGRARIAN SECTOR OF THE ECONOMY OF UKRAINE

Abstract

Purpose. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the types of strategies for increasing the competitive abilities of clusters in the agrarian sector of the Ukrainian economy. Methodology of research. The theoretical and methodological basis of the research is the works of representatives of the classical economic school, as well as the theory of economic development and inter-firm cooperation as the theoretical base of network structures, the theory of knowledge transfer, the theory of foreign economic activity. In the process of the research, we used the provisions of the evolutionary methodology – to study the evolution of the cluster economy, the systematic approach - to assess the cluster environment and cluster activity conditions, analysis and synthesis - to determine the role of clusters in the economy and the factors that determine their effective functioning. Findings. The features of appearance and development of cluster formations in the economy are determined. The importance of forming clusters on the strategic principles of ensuring their competitive abilities is substantiated. The methods of cluster influence on competition are generalized. The expediency of preparation of 5 kinds of competitive strategies of clusters and introduction of one of them, depending on the state of the environment, is substantiated. The determinants of the competitiveness of economic entities and cluster formations in the economy are presented. Originality. The basic 4 types of competitive strategies of M. Porter have been complemented by the 5th type - diversification of production for the range of standardized cheaper and more expensive goods, with a change in the ratio of production proportions between the specified goods by years, depending on the demand of consumers. The competitive determinants of M. Porter's for agrarian sector with the selection of events with a random probability, which are represented by the influence of soil-climatic factors on the conditions and results of activity, have been specified. Practical value. Practical significance of the research results is the possibility of their application in the process of the formation of strategic and programmed documents of economic development in cluster formations and at different levels of the economy.
