Abstract
The need for a comprehensive study of the problem of plagiarism both from the point of view of identifying the causes of it, and from the stand point of the formation of prevention and punishment measures is associated with the penetration of this phenomenon in almost all forms of student work. Adoption of plagiarism in the academic environment does no t allow the student to acquire the necessary competencies and at the “exit” we have a specialist who cannot professionally perform his functions. The main reasons for the spread of this phenomenon are the wide spread use of electronic technologies in everyday life, the lack of skills in correct citation, the desire to ease life, the large load of student youth, the lack of active struggle by teachers, the lack of interest in the study of certain disciplines or the entire educational process, misunderstanding of the value of intellectual labor, etc. Also, the reason for plagiarismis the uncertainty of the student in his own strength. Another major reason for the spread of plagiarism is the large offer by specialized companies of writing services of any complexity.
