SUBJECTIVE-EVALUATIVE FORMS OF ADDRESS IN THE MODERN RUSSIAN LANGUAGE

Abstract

The relevance of the chosen issue is due to the need to solve a number of problems, which are still interpreted ambiguously. The scientifi c novelty of research lies in the integrated approach to the study of subjective-evaluative forms of address. The article discusses some aspects of the problem of the forms of address (semantics, structure, grammatical specifi city, semantic load and stylistic use of evaluative forms of address in discourses), which are the object of our study. The purpose of the work is that by identifying the functional potential of the forms of address, to analyze from diff erent points of view the characteristics of the forms of address that perform the subjective- evaluative function in the Russian language. The main methods used by us in the course of the study are: the descriptive method, the method of direct observation, the statistical method, the functional method, and the method of contextual analysis. The material for the study is based on artistic discourses of the Russian writers of the twentieth century. Results. The analysis has revealed the semantic features of tokens that represent the given type of the forms of address; their grammatical characteristics have been given; the semantic load of the evaluative forms of address in the texts has been identifi ed. Conclusion. The functioning of the forms of address in the Russian language permits us to detect such a specifi c feature as multifunctionality. Of particular interest is the subjective-evaluative function that plays an important role in the artistic discourse. Practical value. The results of the research can be used in the study of such subjects as the Syntax of the Russian Language, Stylistics, and Text Linguistics.
