Teachers’ of mathematics professional competence in higher vocational schools

Abstract

. The problem of teacher of mathematics professional competence formation at the higher vocational school is considered in the article. In the context of this problem, the question of the correctness of the presentation of material in textbooks on mathematical disciplines, read in the higher vocational school, is highlighted. Examples of incorrect definitions, arguments, conclusions, and formula-tions of theorems are given. The ways of using the described errors in training are suggested. It is concluded that the problem of forming the professional competence of a mathematics teacher in the system of higher professional education is relevant. The most important type of profes-sional training for a mathematics teacher is the critically correct preparation. The notion of "correctness as a criterion makes it possible to evaluate the correctness of definitions, infer-ences, judgments, proofs, formulations of theorems and other components of the content of mathematical disciplines. The analysis of the educational literature used for teaching math-subject disciplines in the higher vocational school made it possible to show cases of incorrect exposition of educational material. Improvements in the quality of educational literature on mathematics consist of systematic, comprehensive scientific and methodological work to improve the level of professional competence of teachers.
