Тестова компетентність майбутнього вчителя іноземних мов і культур

Abstract
Нова парадигма сучасної вітчизняної педагогічної освіти вимагає оновлення змісту і форм професійно-методичної підготовки майбутніх учителів іноземних мов і культур, зокрема готовності до ефективної організації контролю процесу і результату формування в учнів іншомовної комунікативної компетентності. У цьому контексті набуває актуальності формування тестової компетентності майбутнього вчителя іноземних мов і культур як здатності добирати, самостійно розробляти тести й ефективно використовувати тестові технології для реалізації контролю рівня сформованості в учнів іншомовної комунікативної компетентності та окремих її складників. Тестова компетентність в єдності її компонентів – специфічних методичних знань і методичних умінь – формується під час вивчення спеціальної дисципліни професійно- методичної підготовки «Сучасні підходи до тестування у навчанні іноземних мов» відповідно до навчального плану для студентів спеціальності 014 Середня освіта, спеціалізації 014.02 Середня освіта (мова і література). The new paradigm of modern Ukrainian pedagogical education requires updating its content and forms of professional and methodological training of pre-service teachers of foreign languages and cultures. In particular, it concerns their readiness for effective organization of monitoring and assessing the process and results of building foreign language communicative competence of school pupils. In this context, it becomes necessary to form test competence of pre-service teacher of foreign languages and cultures as their ability to choose, select, compose language tests and effectively use test methods, techniques, and technologies to monitor the level of formation pupils’ foreign communication competence and its single components. Test competence consists of specific methodological knowledge and methodological skills which are formed the special discipline of professional and methodological teacher training “Modern approaches to testing foreign languages” in accordance with the curriculum for students of specialty 014 Secondary education, specialisation 014.02 Secondary education (language and literature). We specify the methodological knowledge that students need to master within their test competence as follows: basic concepts and provisions of the theory of language testing; descriptors of language levels; test objects and modern test methods and techniques; types of tests and test questions; test structure; stages of planning and preparation language tests; specifics of evaluation, processing and interpretation of test results; computer assisted testing; didactic capabilities of information and communication technologies for language testing. The proper level of methodological knowledge determines the effectiveness of building such methodical skills as: to choose and select foreign language teaching material for testing; to analyse, to select and to compose tests for evaluating foreign language communication competence and its single components; to use information and communication technologies for analysing, choosing, and selecting computer tests; to evaluate the results of testing, to perform their processing and interpretation; to apply modern test methods and techniques to assess foreign language communication competence and its single components; to build pupils’ test competence; to compile test manuals; to compile electronic test manuals using instrumental programs and Internet resources.
