THE ASSESSMENT OF THE OXIDATION STABILITY AND OF LUBRICATING PROPERTIES OF OIL COMPOSITIONS

Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2009, Vol 225, Issue 3

Abstract

The objective of the study was to stabilise rapeseed oil of the following natural antioxidants. Stability of rapeseed oil without and with addition of antioxidants was measured with the differential scanning calorimetry – DSC and PetroOXY. The antiwar and anti- -seizure properties of oils were determined in the sliding steel-steel tribological couple utilising a four-ball machine. A group of oil compositions with natural antioxidants were subjected to a series of tests confirming their usefulness as of base oils of greases.
