Abstract

The Auxiliary Army of Peru was one of the main military forces off the rioplatense revolutionary process. Key part of the newly installed authorities in Buenos Aires in its attempt to control the internal jurisdiction of the United Provinces of Rio de la Plata and defeat the Spanish troops in the Alto Peru. By the central place occupied by the Auxiliary Army during the wars some of the most important figures of the period were part of his officers and the army itself important political player and a power factor. The support of the men who were part was crucial for any political project. During the command of general José Rondeau, the chiefs staged various episodes of insubordination to the authorities but also to his own commander. This article then proposes to explore the behavior of the officer corps and try to address the issues that led these men to mutiny and challenging authority both during the Directories for Posadas and Pueyrredón.
