The concept and features of criminal proceedings in absentia

Abstract
In the article the theoretical aspects of the criminal proceedings in absentia in criminal justice of Ukraine is examined. Doctrinal approaches to understanding of the special criminal proceedings are analyzed, studied the opinions of scientists about the possibility of introducing an appropriate legal phenomenon in the domestic criminal justice are studied. Also the essence of features characterizing the institution of criminal proceedings in absentia are presented and disclosed.
