THE CONTEMPLATION ON THE UTILISATION OF FREE SURFACE ENERGY RELATED TO THE CHARACTERISTICS OF ENERGY CONDITIONS OF SURFACE LAYERS

Abstract
The tribological embrace of the actual state of knowledge upon energy conditions of the surface layer is presented in this article. The characteristics of free surface energy and its relationship with the electron structure of surface layer were engaged as a datum point to this contemplation. In view of fact that a lot of hypothesis concerning adhesion (the source of this phenolmena that are sought in the electron structure of solids) are related to free surface energy can be recognised as a parameter informing us about the changes in the energy condition in a surface layer. The presented contemplation induces taking on experimental research on the relationship between free surface energy and adhesive wear and scuffing resistance of surface layer.<br/><br/>
