THE DAMAGE OF THE RACES OF LARGE BEARINGS
Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2011, Vol 237, Issue 3
Abstract
In this paper, some form of large bearing race damages and their causes are presented. Particular attention was paid to the single row four-point contact ball bearing races. The variations of the contact angle of the ball bearing are analysed, taking into consideration susceptibility to bending and twisting of bearing races. Simulation research was carried out using the finite element method. The identification of the contact angle of each individual ball was obtained. Limited load from axial force and overturning moment was considered. The results indicate that the contact angle of some rolling elements augment significantly. It may cause the ruin of the race through the rolling of bearing ring edges. Ways are proposed to avoid premature race damages through design and bearing selection.

MODEL OF THE ELEMENTARY PROCESS OF ABRASIVE WEAR
The work assumed a geometric model of metal abrasion with a coneshaped grain. This assumption was used to define a method to calculate wear particle geometry and connect them with portions of mechanical energy. Friction...

A STUDY OF THE RHEOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF GREASES THICKENED BY LITHIUM 12-HYDROXYSTEARATE IN THE LINEAR AND NON-LINEAR VISCOELASTIC REGIME
The effect of lithium thickener content on rheological properties of grease compounds in linear and non-linear viscoelastic regimes was investigated in this work. During the study, two oscillation tests were used: amplit...
