Mixed model descriptive study design was used. The quantitative data’s were collected from clinical internships lasting for three weeks or more by using mini-CEX form. Research data was obtained with the participation of volunteer students and faculty for the 2010-2011 clinical training period. Teleological sampling method was used for the selection of sampling. Qualitative data about the usefulness of the form was collected from the students (focus group) and the faculty (semi-structured interview). A total of 72 applications were made. Mini-CEX form, the internal consistency coefficient was 0, 79. The correlation of the passing scores of the verbal exam and the passing scores for the end of the internship were found to be 0, 62 and 0, 64 respectively. The average time of the completion of the form was found to be 20, 09 minutes. 82 % of the applications were made in the ward, 66,6 % of the applications were made with the patients with moderate complexity and 33, 8 % of them were made based on the diagnoses. In the evaluation of the scores, the lowest mean score was calculated for the physical examination (6,59) and the highest mean score was calculated for human behavioral (7,45). The mean satisfaction score about the application of the test was calculated for the students and the faculties as 7, 62 and 7,69 respectively. The title has been identified as the ninth category introduced in pre-treatment with students. Findings obtained from the research showed that, students and faculties had the positive opinion about the fairity of the mini-CEX application, improving of the students by giving feedback to them, evaluation of the student’s performance by using an adequate content. As a result, the mini-CEX evaluation technique with good planning can be used in the clinical training period.
