THE ROLE OF EDUCATION IN THE PROCURING OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF MANKIND

Abstract
The end of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st centuries are characterized by turning for the worse of ecological situation on our planet. It becomes obvious, that harmonization of mutual relations of society and nature is becoming more important. Intensive development of ecological education becomes the actual task for all countries and is one of the ways of overcoming the global ecological crisis. In this paper some global tendencies of the development of ecological education in connection with realization of sustainable development principles are examined. The education for a sustainable development is extremely immediate international social and pedagogical problem which emphasizes interrelation between environment, economy and society. The goal of education for a sustainable development consists in assistance to acquisition of knowledge, skills and persuasions which allow to accept and inculcate decisions at the local and global levels, directed on increasing a qualitative standard of living and don’t threaten the future generations to satisfy their exigencies. The education for a sustainable development is the modern approach to the organization of educational process which includes informing of members of a society about the basic problems of a sustainable development, formations of the outlook which is based on principles of a constancy, reorientation of study from transfer of knowledge on a dialogue establishment, orientation to infringements and the practical decision of local problems. The education for a sustainable development lasts during all life and includes all levels and categories of education. The main tools on introduction of education for a sustainable development are: dialogue is establishing of understanding between the authorities, nongovernmental organizations, commercial structures, various community and individuals; teaching is development of new knowledge, skills and abilities for encouragement of constancy practice in the sphere of business, economy and in daily life; informing is access to information about questions of a sustainable development and environmental setting, achievements in introduction of a sustainable development; marketing is changes in behavior of each person for benefit of stability at the decision choice, with estimating of benefits and costs. The education for a sustainable development assumes changes in the educational process concerning teachers, pupils and education control
