Вплив овертаймів на продуктивність праці та емоційний стан команди проекту / Overtimes impact on labor productivity and emotional status of a project team

Abstract
У статті системно проаналізовано проблему продуктивності роботи в години нормованого та понаднормового графіку, а також ефекти від овертайму у коротко- та довгостроковій перспективі. Автором проведено спостереження результатів роботи в режимі стандартного часу та овертайму, виявлено причини втрати продуктивності. Зроблено узагальнення проектних практик із різних індустрій у розрізі причин овертайму, індивідуальної та командної мотивації, динаміки емоційного стану учасників команди, а також розроблено рекомендації щодо уникнення/мінімізації негативного впливу овертайму. The article provides a brief overview of research on the labor productivity within standard working schedule and overtime mode, also highlights the most striking results of investigations on short-term and longterm impact of overtimes on productivity and, consequently, a whole project: in particular the counterproductive nature of the overtimes and dramatic loss in efficiency due to exceeding standard working schedule. With regards to the latter, small experiment was done to measure the key parameters of productivity and figure out if the findings of the research are applicable to the case of knowledge workers and whether the results are aligned. The measurement revealed the multidirectional dynamics of the factors impacting the complex phenomenon of efficiency, but eventually supported the ideas stated at the beginning. Also the summary from project practices in different business areas was made in the context of the reasons for overtime, individual and team motivation, the dynamics of the emotional state of team members. Some recommendations for avoiding/minimizing the negative impact of overtime, preventing people burnout, retaining commitment and motivation and encouraging creativity were defined.and procedures of product development; product concept; positioning of goods.
