APHORISMS AS AN ELEMENT OF ENTERTAINMENT DISCOURSE (based on Club of Merry and Quick-witted)

Abstract

The article deals with investigating programs of Club of Merry and Quick-witted as a part of the entertainment television discourse (including the functioning of aphorisms). The article is the analysis of the linguistic specificity using aphorism in entertainment television discourse. The analyzed features of aphorisms as paradoxical, imaginative, artistic (the use of such tropes as an epithet, metaphor, metonymy, simile, repetition, parcellation, phonological means), brevity, ellipsis, compact size, completeness, synthesis, instructive nature, clarity, accuracy and precision, wit, seriality and others. The above makes it possible to conclude that the aphorisms as part of the entertainment discourse have a significant number of features common to other kinds of aphorisms but different in authorship belonging to a team, and not always sufficiently deep thought. The perspective we see further research in describing other components of entertainment television discourse
