CIVIL SOCIETY AS A SUBJECT FOR PROTECTION OF THE DEFENSE OF THE STATE: THE MODERN EXPERIENCE OF UKRAINE

Abstract
The article explores modern theoretical approaches to understanding the role and place of civil society in ensuring the defense of the state. Based on the relevant norms of legislation and social relations, the main functions of civil society as a subject of administrative and legal support for the defense of the Ukrainian state are defined. The order of realization by the institutions of civil society of functions and powers in the sphere of state defense is considered. Based on the results of the study, a conclusion was drawn on the need for a legislative settlement in the course of the defense reform of the issues of civil society activity as a subject of defense, especially the regulation of social relations for the creation of volunteer units to ensure the defense of the state, repelling armed aggression.
