Clinico-epidemiological profile of diabetic foot at tertiary care hospital

Abstract
Background: Worldwide, diabetic foot lesions are a major medical, social, cause of hospitalization for patients with diabetes. Infectious agents are associated with amputation of the infected foot if not treated promptly Aims and Objectives: Hospital Methodology: This was a cross January 2015, All the patients who were admitted to the General surgical ward with diabetic foot, during the period were studied. All of them studied in detail regarding Age, sex, Residence, Addictions, Past history of trauma to limb etc. Were asked and clinical examinations done to see Neuropathy, Peripheral pulsation and Color Doppler to see any ischemia in limb. Proportions and Percentages were used to present the data. studied that Majority of the Patients were in the Age group of 15.58%, 20-30-6.49%, 10-20- The most common precipitating factors observed in our study were Neuropathy 32.46%, Un-controled diabetes patients with diabetic foot were, Type II Diabetes Male - 55.84%, Rural -54.54%,Tobacco Use controlled Diabetes-27.27%. Conclusion: II Diabetes, Neuropathy, Low controlled Diabetes so these factor patients.
