Abstract
The article considers different approaches to the evaluation of educational achievements of students in the context of the competence-based approach to learning. The essence of the assessment determines the cognitive, pragmatic and affective readiness of students to use the acquired knowledge and cognitive experience in real life situations. Therefore, in the assessment of educational results, you must focus on the learning abilities of students. Such tests allow us to determine the ability of students to create and improve their own system of knowledge, to apply them to solve vitally important problems. Proposed test of competence consists of verbal-communicative and logical-mathematical parts. Such test was used in practice and has demonstrated its effectiveness.
