Journal Title: Pedagogicka Orientace - Year 2010, Vol 20, Issue 2

Abstract

In the paper, the author presents his views on the definition of the terms research and educational science. He also briefly summarises the institutional basis of educational research and development in Slovakia and discusses the current state of educational science and its supportive activities, including doctoral study programs. Towards the end of the article, selected threats within educational science are referred as well as important objectives for research and development, and evaluation in educational sciences.
