Left-right" party differentiation: principles of conceptualization in modern political science
Journal Title: Politicus - Year 2016, Vol 4, Issue
Abstract
The article based on deductive (a priori) approach established that the fundamental ideological opposition, which defines the essence of “Left-Right” distinction, is opposing the principles of equality and social hierarchy (inequality). It is found that this distinction has a dynamic and changing nature. The study defined indicators, the use of which will identify belonging of certain political forces to “Left” (or “New Left”), “Right” (or “New Right”) or Centrist (“Center-Left”/”Center-Right”) parties.
