LINGUISTIC METHODS OF TRANSLATION: ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES

Abstract

The article is dedicated to the research of the linguistic method of translation, its advantages and disadvantages. It is stated the importance of the given method in the development of modern types of translation, as well as the importance of translation transformations in the forming of successful and adequate translation. Therefore, the best way to characterize the process of translation is by looking at it as the joint functioning of two languages. The linguistic models of the process of translation contribute to a better understanding of this complex process. The deeper the translator delves into the comprehension of the source language text, the more likely he/she is to reject target language options previously regarded appropriate. The translator constantly moves between the two languages, constantly exploring the relationship of the source language and the target language signs to each other and to reality.
