Measures of church administration on improvement of the orthodox parish clergy’s morality in the Kyiv eparchy in the 19th – early 20th century

Abstract
The article deals with the church leaders’ measures aimed at improving the morality of the Orthodox parish clergy in the Kyiv eparchy in the 19th – early 20th century. It has been found that among the main actions there were such as the suppression of vagrancy, the regulation of leisure time spending, control over following the rules of the Church statutes, standards of appearance and behaviour in public places. Controlling moral qualities of the clergy was one of the ways for the Church administration to care about the authority of the Church as a whole
