Modernization processes in the formation of curricula and school history textbooks

Abstract

The article contains a general analysis of trends in the transformation of the content of school history education in the years of independence, which are reflected in curricula and textbooks. The estimation of standardization as the basic mechanism of normative regulation of the content of historical education is given. Specific examples show the extent to which the principles of the new educational paradigm are implemented in curricula and textbooks. The necessity of rethinking the content of education from the position of a competence approach is argued, which will become the guarantee of a full and comprehensive develop- ment of schoolchildren. The conclusion is made about the need for further changes in the content of school history education, and then the modernization of the contents of curricula and textbooks.
