RARE BRICKWARES OF TSHINETSKO-KOMARIVSKA CULTURE

Abstract

In the article attention is accented on the original brickwares of tshinetsko-komarivska culture – spindle whorls with ledges, so-called “horned spindle whorls”. On territory of Poland, Belarus, Ukraine (Western Volyn, Western-Volyn Polissia, Podniprovia) a few ten of this “horned spindle whorls” is educed. They belong tshinetsko-komarivska culture, however their swingeing majority is educed to the north, in the natural habitat of tshinetska and east-tshinetska cultures and on Small Polissia distribution (pool Gorin). Therefore for a komarivska culture they are less inherent. A middle diameter of rings is an about 5 cm, in most – an about 8 cm. Amount of ledges (“horns”) – 4–9. There is supposition, that they had not only the practical setting but also could be used during ritual actions, id est were sacral objects. Separate from these wares it is possible to attribute arts to creations, taking into account quality of making, sometimes angobing, presence on them of symbolic signs. The exposure “horned spindle whorls” in the closed complexes (accommodations, burial places) would help more precisely to find out their setting.
