THE CONCEPT OF “LONELINESS” IN THE PROSE OF M. MATIOS

Abstract

Attention is drawn to the problem of crisis States, which often leads to loneliness and becomes the initial stage of existence – understanding of being and yourself in being, prompting the choice of values. At the conceptual level, we meet with concepts that are dominant in the philosophy of existentialism: loneliness, alien- ation, borderline situations, self-reflection, choice and the like. These semantic concepts are not declared by the author, but are implemented in the “artistic world” by the components of poetics in their systemic, mutually agreed relations, among which are the subject environment of the heroines, their actions and reactions to the world, internal monologues, dialogues, symbolic or mythopoetic content of the specific circumstances of the characters ‘ existence. The heroines of the studied works are quite lonely women. Each of them experienced crisis conditions – situations that threatened their physical existence. For Darusya (“sweet Darusya”) this situation is a betrayal of the mystery of parents, a mental shock that led to the loss of voice and caused external loneliness. For Severina (“Muckalica”) state of crisis, leading to its exclusion from the outside world, was exactly of her birth. For the heroine of a psychological exploration “diary of a beheaded” – a suicide attempt. By putting his characters in exactly the same existential situation of solitude, the writer masterfully portrayed quite great causes and course of this condition, quite different reactions each of the characters of the world, themselves, and, respectively, and their different life choices. Thus, the state of solitude of the heroines in each case is saturated with dif- ferent existentials, which gives grounds for the appropriate classification.
