Abstract
The Act on the Emergency Medical Services in Poland defines the concept of first aid and advanced first aid. First aid is given by every witness of an event, while advanced first aid is provided by a paramedic, that is a person who has completed a 66-hour course in the field of advanced first aid which ends with an exam.
