UNILA: A CONTRIBUIÇÃO DO ENSINO PARA A INTEGRAÇÃO DA AMÉRICA LATINA

Abstract
The aim of this paper is to present general aspects of the main institutional characteristics of the Federal University of Latin American Integration – UNILA. The context of the creation of the University, its mission and central elements, which were the foundation of its activities in the first half of the undergraduate institution, are analyzed. It was verified that the contribution to regional integration – goal established in the law of its creation – demands a non-traditional pedagogical and academic structure, which justifies the criteria chosen for its functioning.
