Universal hydraulic structure

Abstract

Currently the coast protection of estuaries, rivers and seas, especially in the locations of various structures in close proximity to water is an important issue. So, in some cases, not only the architectural monuments (for example, Belgorod-Dnestrovskiy fortress) were in danger, but also a number of settlements in the Odessa region on the whole. In shallow areas of the waters of ports of Ukraine coast protection structures were used without the protection of port areas. Many of them are in emergency condition. For this reason, there is an urgent need to develop new constructive solutions to coast protection structures able to withstand the force effect of wind waves and drifting ice formations. This article describes a new design of the coast-protecting structure of mixed type for protecting the coast and creating additional territories in the coastal zone of seas, lakes, reservoirs and estuaries, as well as artificial islands, for example, for offshore hydrocarbon deposits. In accordance with the recommendations of the normative documents a comparative analysis of power effects of waves and drifting ice in the presented design with different depths of water is carried out.
