DESIGN OF DISTANT DEVELOPING ENVIRONMENT

DESIGN OF DISTANT DEVELOPING ENVIRONMENT

Authors: Maryna Smulson
( 0 downloads)
Abstract

The article covers psychological problems emerging in designing of modern distant environments for self-development under the newer computer technologies (Web.2.0). As a basis, the student-centred paradigm of instruction is used, which reflects the model of the student's self-development. Its principal design characteristics were analyzed, and the relevant psychoeducational characteristics considered. This approach is closely related to the view of the context (i.e. environment) as a dimension for self-development where all explicit and implicit possibilities can be used as resources, including other people, potential of the Internet etc. The evidence is given that the conception of the personality self-development offered by G.S. Kostiuk proposes effective approaches to solution of the problem of supporting developmental potential of distance learning.

Abstract

In the article, the psychological approach is considered to the problem of distance learning technologies use in work with students, who have the low level of learning activity self-organization. The influence of motivational sphere of students on the level of self-organization of their learning activity has been shown in the paper, as well as the influence of problem situations on the forming of positive motivation in students. Solving of the given problem is one precondition of the effective use of distance learning technologies in the instructional process at a higher school. Experiential data show the essential increase in the students' learning activity self-organization, motivation included, and in efficiency of traditional forms of instruction due to implementation of distance learning technologies in the instructional process, e.g. use of electronic manuals, E-mail etc.

Abstract

The article deals with technologies used for reinterpretative (transformational) influence on the mental model in the old age. Successful resolving of the old age crisis implies personal self-development to the effect of deeper understanding of the world, wisdom, comprehension of the past and of experiences, and transformation of the individual's mental model. The psychological precondition for this process is its relation with intellectual shifts and enrichment of intelligence, with reflection and interpretative (narrative) potential of the subject, and with his/her readiness for self-development. To reinterpretate the mental model of the world, we propose such efficient technologies as the structured autonarrative (“Life book”) combined with accompanying methods and the method of externalization of the old age problem with adequate metaphors. Defined were the criterial parameters of the presence of reinterpretative tendencies in the mental model obtained by affecting the structured autonarrative.

Keywords: late adulthood (old age); mental model; reinterpretation; structured autonarrative; externalization of the problem; metaphor.

Abstract

In the article, the systemic assessment is reviewed of the influence that socio-psychological and professional trainings have on students, which is based on the analysis of dynamics of structural changes in latent personal constructs. Personal changes were evaluated on the basis of complex use of the differences credibility estimate, skewness of distribution, of the forms of goal-setting, the content of exercises and diagnostic tools that are adequate to the students' gender features. Statistical technology was also used in a systemic way for structural analysis of data in the dimension of professional competence indicators; construct systems of students were modeled for evaluation of changes, i.e. of reconfiguring, destruction and formation of new deep professional personal constructs which provide the stable psychological basis for professional stance of a specialist and for efficiency of his/her professional activity.

Abstract

The psychological approach to the text is described in the article. The text is a complex multilevel semiotic formation which shapes interaction between the author and a reader, reflecting both the author's message, his/her communicative intention and the program of the reader's communicative and cognitive activity. The description of a dialogic text is given, its principal parameters are proposed: multi-aspect nature of information, addressed character, personification, existence of different points of view and meaningful positions. Dialogic character of the text enables controlling the process of its understanding and interpretation and provides for the author-reader contact thus promoting its meaningful creative understanding. The main mechanisms of the dialogic text creation are defined, of which the college faculty should have command, as a principal factor of its effective learning.

Abstract

This article focuses on the problem of mental development in pre-school children; it describes its features and patterns. A preschool child is able to understand and solve problems of different types, to use the operations of judging, reasoning, finding cause-and-effect relations. Using their imagination and thinking, as well as comparison, analysis, synthesis and matching of the previously acquired knowledge with the new one, children hypothesize, design constructions and produce creative ideas. The author explores the mechanisms of creative thinking activities for the purpose of their further development and analyzes prerequisites of its optimization at the pre-school age. Purposeful attention and inciting of practical activities of preschool children comprise important prerequisites for development of their cognitive sphere, of complex intellectual activities crucial for creative activity.

Abstract

The article deals with the psychological phenomenon of the mental model of life choices developed by the author. It is difficult to differentiate between particular layers of the life model, so, investigating our own mental model from different perspectives, highlighting certain aspects, we obtain better result, i.e. the model of our own life choices with elucidated cause-and-effect relations, the most complete life scenario. Presented is the structure and components of this mental model; the distinction between adaptive (success) and non-adaptive («pseudo model») models is made. This phenomenon creates a qualitative basis for self-diagnosis, exploring and transformation of adults' mental models into more adaptive model, combined with personal characteristics: age-related and gender-related, physiological etc.

Keywords: mental model of life choices; pseudo model; map; model of successfulness; methods of study into mental models.

Abstract

In the article, different views are discussed of parallel work with parents of children who are involved in the psychocorrection process. Described is the historical background of this trend in psychotherapeutic work, and modern strategies are examined for work with parents within the psychodynamic paradigm. We present the findings from our research examining aspects of work with parents of adolescents who were involved in psychotherapeutic program because of their negative experiences in relations with parents. This work enables parents to better understand both psychological and age-related characteristics of their children and the children themselves due to separation of their own experiences, fears and worries from the child's one's, thus improving their general state and initiating positive changes in their families.

Keywords: psychocorrectional work with parents; psychodynamic psychotherapy; catathymic-imaginative psychotherapy (CIP; symbol drama); training of parental competence; adolescents; negative emotional experiences.

Abstract

The article deals with developing and using of personality-centered educational technologies for creation of a motivating environment that promotes self-identification of students regarding the chosen specialty (medical lyceum) and improves the quality of teaching. Special attention is paid to intellectual self-development which is one crucial component of a motivational environment. The principal constituents of the diagnostic model of a professional were elucidated. The author shows that the content of professional education at a higher school should provide the possibility to synthesize the subject experience of a prospective specialist, which is formed primarily by himself, while his subject professional experience is formed at a higher school by way of "cultivating", initiating, eliciting and use of the student's individual experience.

Abstract

The article contains the review of approaches to the concept of readiness. The meaning of readiness is analyzed in terms of activity approach; its structure as a psychological and psychophysiological formation realizable solely in the context of a particular activi4y and dependent inter alia on the content of this activity: learning, labour activity, sports etc. is scrutinised. Described is the specificity of readiness to the distance learning. The evidence is given that readiness to the distance learning is based on its design, which provides means for an adult to advance from the actual zone to the zone of proximal development; the sense of the assessment of readiness is this design assessment.

Abstract

The article contains analysis of specific features of evaluation and forming of readiness to distance learning. The project is examined as a basis for readiness, and activities of designing and design management are analyzed. Discussed are the findings obtained in the experimental study. After the forming experiment most participants of the experimental group formulate their goals in a contradictory, negative or ambiguous way; this may occur because the final goal of learning activity is positioned outside of the learning activity proper. Totally, the experimental group as distinct from the control group, has shown improvement in the goal-setting and better developed comprehension of their actions. This is indicative of the fact that the principal elements of the learning projects and readiness to their fulfillment are formed on the level of the best indices of specialists' readiness to their professional activity.
