Abstract

In this paper, a numerical method is introduced for solving the optimal control problems. The method is a state parameterization technique which can consider the state parameters as a linear combination of Chebyshev polynomials with unknown coefficients. In the proposed method, the main object is to reduce the system dimensions to achieve a robust and easy solution. This method approximates the control and state variables as a function of time. In addition, by combining the Wavelet and Chebyshev polynomials, the method is transformed into a more successful technique to find the optimal control solution by comparing with the other existing mentioned algorithms.

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to develop a model for identifying the status of customer knowledge management (CKM) in insurance organizations. In this paper, the customer processes in insurance companies identified through interview with several insurance experts. Then we customized the existing CKM maturity model (CKMMM) for insurance industry by integrating the customer processes with the CKMMM. Also a tool was designed based on the created model for measuring CKM maturity in insurance sector. Running the developed model in 10 insurance companies, it was found that most of them were in level 1 or 2 of maturity. We described one of them as an example to show the usage of the model. The proposed model along with its relevant tool helps insurance managers to assess the current maturity of their CKM and take suitable required actions by considering the potential of future growth and moving toward desired status. Moreover, single linear regression was applied for studying the relationship between CKM maturity level and market share. Results confirmed the existence of a correlation between CKM maturity level and market share, thus encouraging for more research about CKM implementation in insurance sector.

Abstract

Nowadays, handicrafts can have a significant position among Iran's industrial productions as non-oil products. In addition, the role of handicrafts in creating job opportunities, increasing gross national product and protecting cultural identity has increased the significance of such complementary economic activities day by day. Whereas packaging art and technics are of great importance in today's world, if they could be used successfully in a country's production, they will be considered as the means for transferring its identity and culture, and lead to a growth in national income level and attracting international markets in parallel. What absorbs the consumer's precise and delicate look in the first step is a product's appealing and high-quality packaging. The more function is used, the more consumers will be willing to buy the product. As there are many appropriate and high-quality raw materials in our country, we could associate the products and raw materials with packaging by the purpose of promotion. Since the raw materials used in a package include a special message of the product's identity, quality and price in addition to their significant role in its form and shape, the present paper ottstptet ta integrate these two concepts with the aim of product maintenance (or what is included in the package) and contacting with the consumers in addition to the examination of packaging definitions and concepts in order to present suitable packaging for saffron )one of the raw materials existing in Iran(.

Abstract

Jasmonate (Jasmonic acid and its methylated ester, methyl jasmonate) are a new group of plant growth regulators. These compounds reduce damage from dehydration, cold and salinity. In this study, methyl jasmonate (30?m) was applied in the early stages of growth and its effect on nitrate concentrations, malondialdehyde content, nitrate reductase and peroxidase activities were studied in Nicotianatabacum L. cv. Coker 347 at high concentrations of chloride. An experiment was performed in a complete randomized setup during 2012 crop year at Guilan Tobacco Research Center outside greenhouse in pot conditions. After transplanting similar seedlings to pots, the plants grewfaster inthree concentrations of irrigation water chlorine (50, 150 and 300 mgL-1), in presence or absence of methyl jasmonate for 8 weeks. The experiments were carried out with 4 replications. Results showed that by increasing the Cl- concentration to 300 mgL-1, the Cl- content of leaves increased linearly, and malondialdehyde and peroxidase activities also increased significantly. In addition, there was a significant reduction in nitrate reductase activity of the middle leaves, while there was no change in the nitrate level. External application of methyl jasmonate resulted in a significant reduction of starch content, especially at 150 and 300 mgL-1 chloride concentrations. Furthermore, nitrate and nitrate reductase activity were significantly increased at 50 mgL-1 chloride concentration. There was no change in the amount of malondialdehyde content and peroxidase activity. It seemsthat in lower chloride concentrations, methyl jasmonate (30?m) off sets the stress induced by the chloride concentration andresultsin improved living conditions.
